The Southern Ontario Secondary Schools Association AA boys hockey final between the Denis Morris Reds and Governor Simcoe Redcoats came down to the last man standing in a shootout Tuesday at the Gale Centre in Niagara Falls.

Chad Canter and Josh Robins scored in the shootout for the Reds and Owen Pemberton and Marek Pouliot replied for Governor Simcoe. After DM goalie Aiden Limoncelli stopped Simcoe’s last shooter, up skated Chase Lynds with a chance to send the Reds to the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations championships for the first time since 2022.

The 15-year-old made the most of his opportunity by netting the game winner to give the Reds a 3-2 triumph.
